From Idea to Business: The First 90 Days That Matter

LaunchLab Team16 August 2026

Every entrepreneur begins with excitement. Very few begin with evidence.

The first 90 days of a business idea should not be spent designing logos or registering domains. They should be spent answering one question: does the market actually want this?

Start with customer conversations. Speak to at least 20 potential customers before writing a single line of code or placing a single order. Ask about their problems, not your solution.

Next, test willingness to pay. A compliment is not validation — a payment is. Even a small pre-order or pilot agreement tells you more than a hundred encouraging words.

Finally, design the business model before the product. Pricing, margins, distribution and operations decide survival far more often than features do.

At LaunchLab, this is exactly how we begin every venture: discover, validate, then design. Ideas are abundant. Disciplined execution is rare. The first 90 days decide which one your idea becomes.
